Disrupting patterns

Klara Nilsson

Exploring cable knitting through intarsia and fair isle designs Disrupting patterns places itself in the textile design field, more precisely in knitting. The aim was to explore and investigate cable knitting in combination with fair isle and intarsia designs with the motivation to disrupt the cable structure. The purpose was to give a bold, powerful expression to the cable, compared to the typical look of the Aran sweaters, and in that way give a new perspective on tradition. The project was made for a knitwear context, knitted by hand on a handknitting machine with the intention to highlight the importance of breaking away from the fast fashion industry.
