No more charging of electric bike batteries on campus

”We at the university need to follow these new requirements when it comes to charging this type of battery. These batteries can pose a fire risk,” explained Henrik Werner, Security Coordinator at the university.
Lithium-ion batteries intended for means of transport or lithium-ion batteries larger than 10 Ah may therefore not be charged on university premises, as these do not meet these stricter requirements.
“Unfortunately, the university currently lacks safe indoor charging and storage facilities that meet the fire safety requirements for the batteries used in electric bicycles,” said Henrik Werner.
