Opening hours and loan periods during the summer

During the summer, the library's opening hours vary between weeks. All opening hours for all weeks of the summer can be found here:

Closed weeks

For three weeks, the Library is closed to visitors. But even though the physical library is closed, it is possible to access and use all of the library's electronic resources via the website. It is also possible to contact the library via e-mail during the closed weeks.

Summer loans

This means that all books borrowed during June, July and August have a loan period that extends over the entire summer, the return date being September 1 at the earliest. You can therefore rest assured that you will not have to return any books in the middle of the summer.

If you still want to return books, you can do so 24 hours a day, if you are affiliated with the university and have a chip that allows you to enter the building. The book return machine accepts books even when the library is closed. If you are not affiliated with the university, you can return books during the library's opening hours.

Interlibrary loans

Interlibrary loans works as usual during the summer, with the exception that we will have limited service. Other libraries may be closed for the summer, which may make it more difficult for us to order books from them.

Summer loan (as described above) does not apply to interlibrary loans. This means that interlibrary loans may be required to be returned during the summer. If the library from which we have borrowed the book demands its return, you must immediately return it to us.
