Kim Bolton leaves, yet continues

“These years have been very rewarding. It has been educational and a lot of fun to work with Mats, Anna, and all the other employees at the university, but I feel that I long to return to research and teaching. I want to be able to take everything I have learned about the university with me and, together with others within and outside the university, develop new ideas in the research area. A lot has happened in the last six years, which means that I have things to catch up on, but also that I can contribute with new perspectives.”
Being Pro-Vice-Chancellor has meant constantly learning about the university's breadth and an opportunity to see potentials outside one's own areas, as well as a chance to get to know new parts of the university.
“I've already started to speak with different research areas about collaborations. As Pro-Vice-Chancellor, I have often been told that we need more formal forums to talk to each other. But I believe that we researchers must take a great deal of responsibility in creating collaboration spaces within the university. We are colleagues. You just have to pick up the phone, or even better, go by and have a chat. I will make the most of the broad expertise that we have at the university and hope that others do the same.”
