Professor at the Swedish School of Textiles appointed new President of AUTEX

AUTEX is a global, non-profit association of universities in the field of textiles, aiming to promote collaboration in higher textile education and research. This is achieved through initiatives such as an annual conference, various awards, the AUTEX Research Journal, and the WeTeam programme – to name just a few.
Vincent Nierstrasz, Professor of Textile Technology at the Swedish School of Textiles, has been actively involved in AUTEX since 1999. Since 2020, he has served on the organisation’s board – first as Treasurer (December 2020–June 2022), then as Vice-President (June 2022–June 2025), and now as President (June 2025–June 2028).
“It is a privilege and an honour to lead the organisation and thereby strengthen global collaboration in advanced textile education and research,” says Vincent Nierstrasz.
