Welcome to the Academic Ceremony!

The traditions that make up the Academic Ceremony are several hundred years old. They have developed over time and Swedish universities conduct this ceremony in different ways. In this ceremony, academic progress at the university is celebrated with great pomp and circumstance. The ceremony is followed by a reception and a banquet.

The main event during the Academic Ceremony is the conferment of doctoral degrees on new doctors as well as the installation of new professors. In addition, we celebrate our new Associate Professors/Docents and the university's Pedagogical Prize is awarded to the teacher or teaching team who have made special efforts regarding students' learning.

The Academic Ceremony takes place at Borås Congress Centre. The ceremony and subsequent reception is open to all employees.
