University of Borås co-hosts the world's largest conference on international higher education

Held annually in different European cities, the conference is a key meeting place for higher education institutions, organisations, and experts in international higher education. That this year's hosting was awarded to West Sweden is the result of several years of joint work within the regional consortium.

“This is an important opportunity to maintain good relationships with our current partners and to find new collaborations. The fact that the conference is taking place in Gothenburg this year gives the University of Borås a golden opportunity to market itself internationally. Several activities are planned to make our brand visible,” said Anneli Bentzlin, the university's representative for the event.

During the conference, the University of Borås will participate in a number of activities to highlight its unique programmes, research areas, and arenas. This includes campus visits, networking, and joint efforts at the Swedish Institute's booth at the EAIE conference.

On Monday, the university's International Office will host current partner universities for a special partner day in Borås. The aim is to deepen ongoing collaborations and showcase our campus – with the hope of attracting more exchange students in the future. The following day, bus tours from the conference to the various host universities will be organised. In Borås, 47 international guests are expected to receive an introduction to the university and go on a guided campus tour.

The university will also be visible in creative ways during the conference. The Swedish School of Textiles has designed the clothes for the conference's keynote speakers – a clear example of the school's international excellence in textiles and design. In addition, unique giveaways will be awarded in the form of handmade bag charms that were created by students at the Swedish School of Textiles.

“We see this as a unique opportunity to showcase our excellence and commitment to international collaboration. It is also an opportunity to strengthen relations with our current partner universities and to make new contacts,” said Anneli Bentzlin.
