The University of Borås as a workplace
The university's vision statement, “Together, we take responsibility for the future. By continually developing distinctive education and research, we make a difference” means that for us, taking responsibility is a given – in education, in research, on campus, and in collaboration with society at large. Each employee’s daily accomplishments form a tapestry of unique threads that together make a difference. At the University of Borås, we are at the forefront of innovation, and we bring our distinctive approach to everything we do. We are bold in our ambitions and work collaboratively across disciplines and boundaries.
Here, together with your 835 colleagues, you will enjoy secure government employment with conditions and benefits that focus on health, quality of life, and security. Our modern campus is in the city centre within walking distance of central station, making it easy to commute from communities around Borås.
Working for sustainable societal development throughout our operations and working to promote diversity, equality, and accessibility are a given at the University of Borås. We also make sure to reduce the environmental impact of our daily operations. We are proud of our environmental work and that the university has a certified environmental management system according to the international standard ISO 14001.
Professional development opportunities
At each annual performance review, a dialogue is held between manager and employee about possible needs for professional development as well as planning and goals for next year's work.
In our internal course offerings, courses are aimed at teaching, research, and technical/administrative staff. Employees at the university can participate in international exchanges through the Erasmus+ programme. Visiting a higher education institution abroad is a good way to get new ideas and develop in your professional role.
Working for the government
