Slow Fashion Business Models 7.5 hp

Spring 2025
Part-time 25%, Mixed times
No obligatory attendance

In contrast with mass production and quick-moving trends, Slow Fashion prioritises longevity, ethical production, and environmentally friendly materials. If you are interested in sustainability issues related to clothing and textiles, this is the course for you.

This course studies handwoven fabrics from rural India, which are used as examples of creative and meaningful alternatives to large-scale factory products. Together with graduates of The Handloom School, we reflect on value creation, sustainability, and justice in the fashion industry. We question prevailing ideals of design, sustainability, and fairness and explore how technical and cultural factors influence the relationship between craftworkers and buyers.

The international market for Slow Fashion is growing and the need for sustainable business models is significant. In this course, you will develop the right skills to address the fashion industry’s challenges.
