IT Project Manager spices up her career with a Master's degree
Why did you choose to pursue the Master's Programme in Informatics – Data-driven IT Management?
"I chose to study this programme because I thought it suited me very well. Above all, it was the focus of the courses, the length of the programme, and the fact that it’s a distance programme that attracted me.
What did you do before you started this programme?
"I already have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Organisation, and for the past 12 years I have worked in IT project management, system development, support, and administration. Therefore, this programme suited me well, because it has given me the chance to strengthen my knowledge in the field I work with.”
What made you want to study again?
"After working for many years after my Bachelor's degree, I began to realise that I still have so many years left in working life. Then it felt fun and exciting to pursue a Master's degree and continue to develop.”
What do you do in this programme?
"We learn a lot in the subject by writing papers, lectures, group work, and exams. I feel that the programme is very varied and it offers a wonderful mix in the subject of informatics.”
What is it like to study an international distance programme?
"It’s great! I find it stimulating to meet people from other parts of the world, even if it's just through the screen. We use the education portal Canvas, which works very well. Everything I need is there.”
What do you want to do after you get your degree?
"After the programme, I will continue to work in my position as an IT project manager, from which I have been on partial leave. It will be great to eventually be able to get back to work, with new and in-depth knowledge.”
