Through interviews and focus groups with women and men from different socio-economic backgrounds, we aim to shed light on how economic abuse is manifested, what consequences it entails, and how it intersects with other forms of violence. The project contributes new knowledge to an area that has long remained invisible, but which is highly significant for gender equality, welfare, and social work.

The objective is to develop a deeper understanding of economic abuse, its characteristics and consequences, and to advance conceptual development as well as methodological tools for professionals working with vulnerable groups. In this way, the project seeks to strengthen society’s ability to prevent, identify, and address economic abuse.
