Recycling of end-of-life textile materials by fabrication of all-cellulose composites - RECYCELL
Start date: 2017-01-01
End date: 2020-01-01
There is an increasing need in society to transfer to a sustainable biobased economy, involving cost efficient recycling and increased use of biobased resources. Very few recycling techniques have been developed for textile waste. This proposal aims at changing this by developing an innovative material recycling technique RECYCELL for end-of-life textiles. The technique represents a paradigm shift in the recycling industries and will have a great impact on our thinking about end-of-life textiles as well as design and material implications of composite. This meets the increasing awareness in society for a transition to a biobased economy. By development of a new recycling technique by production of biocomposites we aim to dramatically enhance the applications and markets for biobased products.
