Resource effective processes for coloration, functional and smart textiles
Start date: 2018-04-01
End date: 2019-11-30
Key objective of strengthening the facilities at THS in resource effective processes is to enable the Swedish textile industry to introduce more effective coloration and functionalization processes.
Resource effective processes, such as inkjet printing, chromojet printing and spraying, will enable cost effective production of high end products, more flexible production, and increased productivity with improved ecological footprint (e.g. minimization of textile waste combined with reduced consumption of energy, water and chemicals). The resource effective textile processes addresses the demand of the Swedish textile industry and academia-industry collaboration for the development of novel textile coloration and functionalization processes.
The successful implementation of novel printing and coating technologies enables new production strategies such as a flexible production, reduced run lengths, reduced consumption of water, chemicals and energy, reduced amount of generated waste, integration of manufacturing processes, opportunities for mass customization, and promotion of a circular-economy.
