The use of textile materials in the reinforcement of concrete offers new potential marketing opportunities for textile manufacturers and also possible economic and environmental gains for manufacturers of concrete elements.

In this project, Engtex AB work together with Skanska Stomsystem AB in the development and testing of textiles as reinforcements for wall elements. As a research institution, the Danish Technological Institute is also interested in investigating how textile-reinforced concrete elements can find uses within existing Swedish construction standards. The project period is two years and will conclude with a demonstration of the technology, for which a mock-up using full-scale elements will be created.
