ST-158 Temperature regulating fibres for better comfort
Start date: 2013-11-14
End date: 2016-12-28
Good thermal comfort is the main property of a number of textile products intended for use close to the body. One way of achieving thermal comfort is to use temperature regulating fibres.
The purpose of the current project is to investigate the potential of this kind of fibre (including a so-called PCM, Phase Change Material) in a number of selected textile products. In the project, attempts are made to optimise type, amount and placement of the fibres in each product, followed by evaluation of the effect. The temperature regulating fibres used in the project have been developed by Swerea IVF and the same company will manufacture the fibres for the selected products.
The partner companies are Lammhults Möbel AB, New Wave Sports AB/Craft, Borgstena Group Sweden AB and Mölnlycke Health Care AB.
The project is a part of Smart Textiles
