Scientific leader for the ULF collaboration was Per Nordén. The three other researchers from the University of Borås were Josefina Eliaso Magnusson, Johanna Mellén and Susanne Klaar. Together they were responsible for each project group.

The ULF collaboration organized 40 teachers and among these were also principals, special education teachers, etc. At first, the project groups revolved around giving teachers time to reflect on the form and content of the teaching, such as: how can we improve the quality of the teaching? In what ways can we jointly investigate the connections between teaching and student learning?

Through research circles, each project group came to carve out its own specific path forward. The four project groups dealt with: action research, reading circles, lectures, studies of individual concepts such as: critical bifocality, clarifying pedagogy, etc. The majority of pre-service teachers, in the spring of 2022, carried out classroom interventions with their students (interviews, observation, surveys, etc.) to map, investigate and analyze various forms of anti-study culture.
