I work as an industrial doctoral student at INSIDR, a research school that aims to increase knowledge and competence in Swedish retail. I am employed at Pulsen Retail AB where I am part of the company's strategic plan for research and development of new business models and business systems in the retail trade. I develop, test and evaluate different ideas and contribute with development and insights in my research area. I work with decision support, location analysis and future visions. I also facilitate innovation workshops that help people and organisations to quickly find creative and innovative solutions to problems and issues.

My PhD project "Reducing superfluous returns - the creation of sustainable e-business" is about exploring opportunities to reduce the returns in the Swedish fashion industry's e-commerce.

There is a growing problem with the increasing returns and I will investigate how companies' sustainability is affected by this and whether companies can use new digital technology to support a reduction in the number of returns.

Today, on average, 22% of all clothing purchased online is returned in Sweden, but the proportion varies between 18-60%. This high rate of return may affect companies' profitability and sustainability. Transporting goods back and forth is not only costly for companies but also for the environment. I want to investigate how we can reduce the number of returns and lower negative environmental impact.
