I hold a PhD in Social Welfare with a specialization in Civil Society. I work as a Lecturer at the Department of Working Life and Welfare, and I am the Director of the Centre for Welfare Studies (CVS). I teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels in areas such as governance, organization, and leadership, primarily within the public sector.

My research interests concern the relationship between the state and civil society, particularly issues related to cross-sector collaboration in addressing complex social problems. I am also interested in the role and significance of civil society organizations in social work, as well as in the interaction between citizens and systems within welfare state organizations.

I defended my doctoral dissertation in 2025 at the Department of Social Work, Marie Cederschiöld University, with the thesis Normative Collaboration: Relations between Public and Civil Society Organizations in the Governance of Welfare. The dissertation examines collaboration between public organizations and civil society organizations in the field of welfare. Through a survey and four case studies, it explores how ideals of equal collaboration develop over time at the local level in interactions between municipal departments and civil society organizations. Using a model for institutional analysis, the dissertation develops an explanation of the conditions for equal relations in collaboration, and how inequality tends to be reproduced even in partnerships based on ideals of equality and mutuality.
