Mikael Larsson
Doctoral Student
Faculty of Caring Science, Work Life and Social Welfare
I have been a police officer since 2008 and have a background as a registered nurse in ambulance care. I also have leadership experience from both the police force and emergency medical services. Today, I divide my time between doctoral studies in health sciences at the University of Borås and my role as a commander at one of the police regional command centers.
My research is part of the ISOLDE project and focuses on police efforts to enhance the safety and security of persons with cognitive disease who go missing. I also have experience in analyzing the police’s role in suicide prevention. By studying search operations and how collaboration with relatives and other stakeholders can be improved, I aim to contribute to greater safety for a vulnerable group and to more effective search efforts when missing incidents occur.
