Introduction to student learning in higher education (3 credits)

The main aim of the course is to develop the participant's ability to maintain reflective teaching and to develop teaching practices that promote student development and learning.

The course introduces theories of student development in higher education along with theories related to student learning. The course provides training in analysis and reflection on a variety of ways to teach and support student learning.

Special focus will be placed on participative teaching methods, student engagement, examination and assessment, inclusion and supervision of student work and projects.

The course is part of the series of higher education development courses taught in English at the University of Borås. Completing this course helps one fulfill the requirements necessary to be eligible to teach in higher education.

Priority for this course is first given to doctoral students and, if space allows, is open to other staff as well.

Last day for registration is 20 March.
