Teaching Sabbatical – STINT
Teachers at the University of Borås can now express interest to be nominated for a STINT scholarship for a stay at a university in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan or the United States to participate in planning and implementation of education. Upon return, you will bring experiences from teaching in another context, but also other input that may be used for the development of the University of Borås. The university should be prepared to take advantage of that experience.
STINT Teaching Sabbatical is a scholarship programme that aims to stimulate increased international exchange, focusing on development of education by giving Swedish teachers the opportunity to stay at a high quality university/higher education institution. The aim of the programme is to develop individuals as well as institutions. By giving researchers and teachers who are passionate about teaching international experiences based on their teaching role rather than the research role, STINT wants to contribute to the renewal of higher education and the creation of new networks.
The nominated teacher must hold a doctoral degree and be employed and well established at the University of Borås. The scholarship is awarded by The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT). The scholarship is personal and not subject to income tax. The amount is set by STINT and is based on salary loss, cost increases, and is also intended to cover the travel expenses for the applicant as well as accompanying family members.

Report
The STINT Scholar must submit a report of his or her exchange to the University of Borås, on a special form you receive with your grant. The scholar and the University will then make a plan on how the teacher’s knowledge and experience should be disseminated and used within the organisation.
