When abroad within the EU/EEA

Roaming, data traffic, and call charges

If you are in an EU/EEA country outside Sweden and you call, text, or send an MMS to Sweden or another EU/EEA country, it counts as a roaming call. The same costs and conditions apply as if you were calling, texting or sending MMS locally in Sweden. You can also use your 50GB data package when you are in the EU/ESS.

More tips for your stay abroad

  • Keep in mind that some services and apps may automatically use data traffic in the background. You can choose which apps are allowed to update in the background or turn this feature off completely via Settings, General, and select Background update.
  • The push function downloads emails to your phone as soon as there is a new message. This function should be set to manual mode (it’s also a good idea to do this within Sweden as it extends battery life). You change to “manual push” and can change the intervals of downloads via Settings, Mail, Accounts, and select Download new data.
  • Enable Find My iPhone as your phone can be tracked via iCloud in case of loss. To activate the service, go to Settings, [your name], iCloud and select Find My iPhone. This service should always be enabled.
  • Make a note of the IMEI number and keep it in a safe place. The IMEI number is the identity of the phone and is important to have at hand in case of phone loss. The IMEI number can be found on the receipt from IT, on the box and can also be accessed in the phone by dialling *#06# on the keypad.
