Internal channels
In internal communication there are two target audiences: existing students and employees. This section presents the main channels available to reach these groups. The channel to be used depends on the purpose of the communication.
Employees
- Managers
- Immediate managers are the most important channel for employees and contact can be made through several channels (personal meetings, personal home page, meetings, etc.).
- Employee website
- Web pages with information that should be relevant to employees.
- Notification via Personal start page (i.e. logged in mode on the employee website)
- Messages for organisational placement, role or university-wide. Primarily information from manager to employee, information previously emailed out, brief practical information, etc.
- Employee news articles on the employee website
- News about/for employees. Things that affect my work, what concerns me as an employee, what's going on at the university and more.
- Calendar on the employee website
- Events for employees.
- Operational information on the employee website
- Fast, short messages about e.g. upcoming or urgent system and facility malfunctions.
- Crisis messages on the employee website
- Information posted at the top of the employee website in case of crisis.
- Instagram
- The aim of the channel is to showcase the university as a place to work, strengthen the sense of community within the university, and create pride among employees. The channel is used to support internal communication through other channels.
- Posters/table signs in break rooms
- Used to reinforce internal communication that is occurring other channels.
- Email
- Used mainly at the individual level and to reach specific groups of employees who cannot be reached via the groupings on the Personal start page. Centrally, no emails are sent to all employees except in an emergency.
- Calender booking via Outlook
- Only done to all employees in exceptional cases.
- Teams
- Direct communication within a specific group of employees or individually between employees.
Students
- Student website (hb.se/en/student)
- Web pages with information relevant to students.
- Student news articles on the student website
- News about/for students. Things that affect students, what concerns me as a student, what's going on at the university, etc.
- Digital screens in student spaces
- Advertising for events and other tips for students.
- Calendar on the student website
- Events targeting students.
- Crisis messages on the student website
- Information posted at the top of the student website in case of crisis.
- Posters in the lifts
- Used for long-term information that can stay up for a long time.
- Instagram @pluggarpahogskolaniboras (Swedish students)
- The aim of the channel is to reach existing students with relevant information and share events that affect their study time, as well as giving students a chance to communicate with the university.
- Facebook (@universityofboras)
- The purpose of the account is to promote the university internationally and create added value for our international students in the country.
- Canvas
- Learning platform that is like the student's classroom. Programme-specific information is not provided by the Communications Office, which only sends a newsletter to all students a few times a term, as well as crisis communications.

- Centrally, no emails are sent to all students.
