The track will contain a mix of sessions for career development and industry integration that will allow students to listen to/meet with company representatives, alumni, PhD students, as well as retrieve information about how to prepare for landing the job of your dreams.

09:00-10:30 Career development – preparation for getting the job (M204)

How do you write a CV in Sweden? What do recruitment agencies look at when they read your application? Should I call before I send in the application? How can LinkedIn be used to improve may chances for landing the job. What are they looking for in a portfolio? Meet our specialists when they answer these any many more questions that will help you in landing the job or internship of your dreams.

09:00–09:30 RISE, Human Towers and Bioeconomy! (C203)

Reaching the top takes time. It requires a map, a strategy and quite a few trials. Hence, risk is an unavoidable element and so is risk mitigation.
Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) goes about these all, empowering scientists climbing their TRL ladder.

In this presentation, I will walk you through RISE Bioeconomy Arena, the latest investment of the Swedish State, a major enabling platform for accelerating bioeconomies and the circularity concept. I will share with you a few real-life examples demonstrating how we transform and valorize residual streams of different nature producing invaluable compounds applicable in feed, food, pharma and chemical sectors.

I end with few master thesis opportunities.

Get inspired by alumnis from the Master’s programs in design, textile management, and textile technology, that will reflect on their experiences and career development. For those interested in an academic career, find out what it is like to be a PhD student at the Swedish School of Textiles.

13:00-14:00 Visit exhibitions at the Career Fair

Time to interact with the companies in the exhibition! Make sure you have practiced that elevator pitch so that you make a good impression. Remember to sign up for a personal session to check your CV and cover letter at the Career counselor’s booth and to get that professional photography.

14:00-16:00 Future skills for a more sustainable future in textiles and fashion (M204)

Engage in a discussion on what future skills are needed for a more sustainable future in textiles and fashion. This part will consist of presentations and Q&As with company representatives on the topic of future skills. The session will end with a workshop to outline the contents of a public panel debate at Borås Textile Days on Friday 15 November.
