Kickoff for new students

During the kickoff, you will have the opportunity to get to know your new fellow students, meet the student union, become familiar with the university, and its different sections. You will also meet the student buddies and campus associations. The idea is that we will give you as a new student in Borås a good start to your studies!

Schedule

Here you will find the schedule for the first day of the kickoff which starts on Monday 2 September. The remaining schedule for the kickoff is available in the Orbi app. The use and features of the Orbi app will be presented on the first day during classroom presentations.

Note that, as an international student you are also recommended to join the Orientation Days the week before the kickoff, on 29–30 August. 

 Monday 2 September

08:00–09:00
Entry at the Textile Fashion Center's courtyard. Here you will meet your student buddies and your new classmates. You will receive a study bag with useful items.

09:00 
The kickoff begins – you will be welcomed by, among others, the president of the Student Union in Borås, Linnea Strand, and the vice-chancellor of the University of Borås, Mats Tinnsten.

Anna Wik, responsible for the kickoff at the Student Union in Borås, and Tobias Minin from the communications office at the University of Borås will enter the stage to present the plan for the day and the coming weeks.

10:00–12:00
You will gather with your class and your student buddies for a campus tour and recieve information about your study time.

12:00–13:00
Lunch on campus. 

13:00–16:00
Workshop with your class – here you will have the opportunity to get to know each other and work together. You will also meet representatives from the industry within your field.

16:00
The grand finale with exciting presentations from the workshops, and preparations for the evening's activities. 

17:00
The day on campus ends. In the evening, there's an opportunity to go to various bars in town with the student buddies to get to know each other better. Take the chance to ask your student buddy about your education, expectations, and other fun things!
