Textile Technology

The textile process chain is long and complex and by tradition it has been divided into a number of techniques and thus areas of expertise. Yarn, weaving, knitting, and sewing techniques are examples of this. Today's textile area, with innovations in digitalisation and new materials, is based more on collaboration between the different technologies than strict divisions between technology areas. Smart textiles, personalisation of clothes, new types of reusable feminine care products, and the entire area of sustainability are examples of current research and teaching at the Department of Textile Technology. These various areas with their different technical skills in the textile field work together to produce results.
