About the University of Borås
We are well-renowned internationally for our Swedish School of Textiles and our Swedish School of Library and Information Science as well as our world-leadingResource Recovery research area with its Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery.
UB is also home to well-regarded study and research programmes in the health sciences, IT, police work, teacher education and educational work, technology and engineering, business administration, social welfare, and work life.
Science Park Borås is a part of UB. This hub is a national leader when it comes to addressing issues of sustainability and consumption. R&D Sjuhärad Welfareis a unit that focuses on research and competence-building regarding vulnerable societal groups. The Swedish government has given UB the task of establishing and leading Textile & Fashion 2030 – the National Platform for Sustainable Fashion and Textiles.

UB's labs
UB is internationally known for its Textile Labs: Digital Crafts Lab, Dye & Print Design Lab, Knitting Technology Lab, Garment Technology Lab, Weaving Technology Lab, Dye & Print Technology Lab, Textile Technology Laboratories, Textile Testing Lab.
UB also has well-equipped Engineering and Technology Labs: Biogas Lab, Biotechnology Lab, Polymer Technology Lab, Energy Lab.
The Data as Impact Lab performs analyses and offers an infrastructure for AI applications involving bibliometric methodology, semantic modelling, and visualisation.
The Digital Business Lab inspires and educates students, collaborates with companies, and supports researchers with its expertise in digital technologies in a business context.
In the Clinical Training Centre, health sciences/nursing students and researchers have access to nursing high-tech and real-world environment simulations and projections.

The University of Borås is a member of the European University Association, EUA. EUA represents and supports higher education institutions in 49 countries, providing them with a unique forum to collaborate and keep on top of the latest trends in higher education and research policies.
