Energy saving at the university
The University of Borås must therefore:
- review its energy consumption;
- report on an ongoing basis what measures have been taken to reduce electricity use in general;
- and report on a monthly basis the amount of electricity purchased (in kWh for premises located in Sweden) to the Swedish Energy Agency (the first report must be made no later than 15 October and the last report after March).
The government has set the consumption of electricity in September 2018 as a reference value for energy savings. The target for the university is to reduce energy consumption by ten per cent compared to the reference value. The measures are continuously presented below on this website.
All managers at the university have received information about reviewing the possibility of saving energy in different ways together with their employees.
What can you as an employee do?
- A first step is to review your own energy consumption – do you remember to turn off the light in the office when you leave for the day? Do you shut down your computer overnight?
- If you have specific suggestions for what we could do to save energy in a specific department or for the entire university, please email the Campus Facilities and Sustainability Office: campusservice@hb.se
- An estimate of the expected savings will be made on all proposals submitted and it will then be decided which proposals can be implemented without affecting the university too much.
