The University of Borås and TEKO, the Swedish trade and employers’ association for companies working in the textile and fashion industry, through the Swedish Textile Research Foundation, SST, is jointly investing in a new research project at the Swedish School of Textiles. Within the framework of the project, large amounts of data will be collected from the textile value chain and then analysed with the help of new AI tools.

What should be done with all the wood and plastic waste? This has been investigated by Supriyanto, a doctoral student in the research area Resource Recovery at the University of Borås. In his thesis, he shows that it is possible to extract significant amounts of valuable substances, which in turn can constitute raw materials for the production of new products, such as fuels and valuable chemicals.

The Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) has reviewed the quality assurance systems at the University of Borås and the university has received the rating “approved with reservations”. This means that our systems have been approved, but that there are some points that the university should work on further within a two-year period.
