At the event “Sustainable Textile & Fashion by Sweden”, held during Expo 2025 in Osaka, diverse voices from the Swedish and Japanese fashion industries came together to explore the future of sustainable fashion.

A new step towards the future of materials research has been taken at the University of Borås. With the establishment of a new cell culture laboratory, doors are opening to the development of groundbreaking innovations in textiles, biomaterials, and food—where human health and environmental impact are at the forefront.

During a full day on 27 May at the Swedish School of Textiles, the textile talents of the future were highlighted. Graduating students in Fashion and Textile Design from the Swedish School of Textiles dazzled with creativity and innovation at this year's Exit show and exhibition. Scholarships were awarded. And Sweden's first official showing of the new collection of tour guide uniforms for the UN Headquarters took place.

The university's Academic Ceremony was celebrated to trumpet fanfare and warm applause. Alongside the joy of career milestones, academic successes, and awards, several speakers reiterated the importance of standing up for academic freedom.
