Ingrid has a Doctor of Philosophy and has worked as a university senior lecturer in caring sciences with a focus on anesthesia care since 2021 at the Academy for care, working life and welfare. She is a registered nurse and a registered nurse anesthetist, have previous work experience in maternity, medicine and surgery wards, at the emergency department, in prehospital care and anesthesia care.

Her research is in caring science conducted in the area of ​​Humans in care and is active in the research group; Care in high-tech environments (CiTE). Ingrid received her doctorate in 2021 at the Linnaeus University with the thesis Heat conservation measures from the patient´s and surgical team´s perspective, which is her main research area. Heat conservation measures include the aids that can be given to the patient to prevent heat loss, the patient's experience of temperature comfort/discomfort, the patient's body temperature and temperature measurement in connection with the patient’s surgery. She also conducts research in pedagogy and the relative’s perspective.

Ingrid is the coordinator for the newly formed network Perioperative hypothermia group (PHG) in Sweden, with a vision to convey knowledge, exchange of experience, update guidelines and be a scientific support for improvement work or studies. The network will also create a platform as a support for communication, information and knowledge dissemination between all professions within the surgery team. She is also a member of the Nordic College of Caring Science (NCCS) and the Australian college of perioperative Nurses (ACORN) and member of the operational group for the Centre of interprofessional collaboration within emergency care (CICE).
